Collaborating Artists

Elina Karimaa:

Born in Tampere, Finland, Elina trained at the Finnish National Opera Ballet School in Helsinki, before continuing her training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds. Elina has performed with Dance Theatre Raatikko in Finland, and also is currently a member of 'Verve' (the graduate company from Northern School of Contemporary Dance). Elina is particularly interested in site specific performance and working with visual elements in dance.

Anthony Middleton:

Born in Yorkshire in the UK, Anthony trained as a gymnast for 10 years before he started his dance training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance. He is also currently a member of the Ballet Boyz Dance Company based in London, and has a strong interest in exploring his own philosophies in movement and choreography.

Isabel Slingerland:

Born in Rotterdam, Holland, Isabel trained at Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy, in the Nederlands, Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School, Denmark, and is now a student at Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Isabel is interested in architectural ideas and qualities in movement.

NEW WORK... 'Certain People'

A first glimpse of the work in progress of Non Compos Mentis memebers Isabel Slingerland and Anthony Middleton.

The piece is an exploration of the emotion of loneliness and a response to a documentary concerning men who have become infatuated with 'real dolls', through loneliness.
